What does the Board do?All film and computer games must be confirmed before it could be legally released for the public eye. Some publication needs to be classified, there are limited exceptions. Classification board decided what consumers advice should provide for each classification. Consumers are told which classifiable elements have led to the decisions. Consumer advice instructs you to what’s appropriate. Classification board also classifies material from the police.
The board does not classify TV programs nor film for broadcast on TV.
How important is the context in the decision making process?Context in decision making is an important element; it informs audiences what is expected when viewing the film and what’s suitable, especially the impact it’ll have on children, especially very young children.
